The Spirit lives in you
The most basic thing Scripture says about the Holy Spirit is also the most startling: God lives inside His people. Paul tells ordinary believers their bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit, the place where God has chosen to make His home. This is not a reward for advanced faith, it is given to everyone who belongs to Christ, without exception. It means God is never far off to be summoned from a distance, since His Spirit is nearer than your own breath. The Christian life is not a solo effort with God watching from above, it is lived with God present on the inside. Spend a moment today acknowledging that the Spirit is there, and ask Him to make His presence more real to you.
