Patience is faith
Patience gets treated as a personality trait some people are born with, but Scripture treats it as faith worked out over time. The farmer does not dig up the seed to check it, he waits for the ground and the rain to do what he cannot rush. Waiting on God asks the same of you, a steady patience that trusts the process you cannot speed. This is not the patience of gritted teeth, it is the patience of someone certain the harvest is coming. When you are tempted to force an outcome or quit, remember that endurance is part of how the promise is received. Ask God for the patience that keeps doing the next right thing while it waits on Him.
Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.
James 5:7 · ASVJames points to the farmer who waits patiently for the early and latter rain he cannot hurry. Patience is portrayed as trust in a process whose timing is not in human hands.
For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise.
Hebrews 10:36 · ASVThe writer says patience is needed so that, after doing God's will, the believer receives what was promised. Endurance is set between obedience and the receiving of the promise.
Wait for Jehovah, and keep his way, and he will exalt thee to inherit the land.
Psalm 37:34 · ASVDavid pairs waiting for Jehovah with keeping His way, and ties both to His exalting the faithful in time. Waiting and obedience are joined together in the verse.
And thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
Hebrews 6:15 · ASVThe verse sums up Abraham's long wait: he endured with patience and received what was promised. The promise came on the far side of patience.
