Hope anchored in the resurrection
Christian hope is not free-floating optimism, it has a specific historical anchor: the resurrection of Jesus. Peter says God has given believers a living hope through raising Christ from the dead. The logic is direct. If God brought Jesus out of the grave, then death is not the end of the story. This is why Scripture can speak of hope even at a graveside. The resurrection is the proof that God's promises hold past the point where everything else fails. Whatever you are facing, it is set against the backdrop of a God who has already defeated the grave. Let the fact of the empty tomb steady the hope you carry into today.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
