God Is Your Strength Sunday, June 21, 2026

The Lord is my strength

On a day set apart for Him, name where your strength has been coming from. It comes from God, who carries you when your own reserves run out. The Lord is my strength is more than a line in a song, it is the plain account of how you are still standing. Let that settle in today. Life will keep asking more than you have, and the same God who is your strength now will be your strength in whatever comes. Rest in being carried, and walk into what is ahead leaning on Him.

Through the day
Morning

Jehovah is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: this is my God, and I will praise him.

Exodus 15:2 · ASV

Israel sings this after God carried them through the sea, calling Him my strength and my song. Strength and worship come together in response to having been delivered.

Afternoon

Jehovah, the Lord, is my strength; and he maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and will make me to walk upon my high places.

Habakkuk 3:19 · ASV

With everything failing around him, Habakkuk calls God his strength who makes his feet like a deer's on the heights. God gives sure footing in the very places that should be treacherous.

Evening

Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing praises: for God is my high tower, the God of my mercy.

Psalm 59:17 · ASV

David sings to God as his strength and high tower, the God of his mercy. Praise is presented as the fitting response to God's protection.

Night

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for Jehovah sustaineth me.

Psalm 3:5 · ASV

David sleeps and wakes in safety because Jehovah sustains him. Even sleep is presented as evidence of God's sustaining rather than one's own effort.
