He carries what you can't

God does not only stand near while you strain under the weight, He offers to carry it. We hold onto our heaviest things out of habit, or a sense that we should be able to handle them ourselves. He invites the opposite. Hand Him what is crushing you, not because He needs the update, but because you were never built to carry it alone. Casting your cares on Him is not a one-time event, it is something you do again every time the weight creeps back onto your shoulders. Name the heaviest thing and give it to Him, and when you notice you have taken it back, give it to Him again.

Through the day
Morning

Cast thy burden upon Jehovah, and he will sustain thee: he will never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 55:22 · ASV

David calls the hearer to cast their burden on God, with the promise that He will sustain them. The verse pairs a handing-over with God's promise to keep the person steady.

Afternoon

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28 · ASV

Jesus invites the worn out and overloaded to come to Him for rest. The invitation is specifically for the heavy-laden, not for people who have it together.

Evening

Casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:7 · ASV

Peter calls believers to cast all their anxiety on God because He cares for them. The ground for releasing the anxiety is God's care rather than human composure.

Night

Blessed be the Lord, who daily beareth our burden, even the God who is our salvation.

Psalm 68:19 · ASV

The psalm blesses God as the One who daily bears our burden. It is not a one-time lift but a carrying renewed every single day.
