Fully known, and His
Most people are loved for the version of themselves they manage to show. God is not working with a version. He has searched you completely, every thought and motive and the things you would not say aloud, and He has not pulled back. That combination is rare and worth holding: fully known and fully His at the same time. You do not have to perform a better self for Him, because He already sees the real one and stays. Bring Him the unflattering thoughts and the parts you are not proud of. He knew them before you said them, and He has not moved.
O Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Psalm 139:1 · ASVDavid opens this psalm acknowledging that God has searched and known him completely. It sets the premise for the rest of the psalm: no part of a person is hidden from God.
I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: wonderful are thy works.
Psalm 139:14 · ASVThe psalm turns to praise, calling each person fearfully and wonderfully made. Being fully known by God stands alongside being deliberately made by Him.
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee.
Jeremiah 1:5 · ASVGod tells Jeremiah He knew him and set him apart before forming him in the womb. God's knowledge of a person is shown to precede their existence.
Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, thou art there.
Psalm 139:7-8 · ASVDavid asks where he could go from God's Spirit and finds nowhere, in the heights or the depths. The passage describes God's presence as inescapable, reaching every place.
