The Bible can feel like a lot when you do not know where to start. The good news is you do not have to read it front to back. Here is a way in.
Start with a Gospel. The Gospel of John or Mark is a good first stop, because they put Jesus at the center right away. Read a chapter at a time, slowly.
Pick a set time and place. The habit forms faster when it has a home. Same chair, same part of the day, even a few minutes.
Read for one thing at a time. As you read, ask a simple question: what does this tell me about God? You do not have to understand everything to learn something.
Write down one verse that stands out. Keeping a short list of verses that mattered gives you something to return to.
Pray before and after. Even one line works: "God, help me understand this, and help me live it."
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105 (ASV)
The Bible is meant to be read a little at a time, often. Start smaller than feels worth it and keep coming back, and it turns into a daily habit instead of a project you have to finish.
