A lot of people stall on prayer because they think they need the right words. You do not. Prayer is talking to God, and He is not grading the wording.
Start with the truth. If you are anxious, say you are anxious. If you are angry or numb or unsure, say that. The Psalms are full of raw, honest prayers, so you are in good company.
Use a verse when you have no words of your own. Praying Scripture back to God is one of the oldest practices there is. Read a verse slowly and let it become your prayer.
Keep it short. You do not have to fill time, and a single honest sentence counts as a real prayer.
Borrow the Lord's Prayer. When you are stuck, Jesus already gave you a template in Matthew 6. Pray it line by line and mean each one.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us.
Romans 8:26 (ASV)
That verse takes the pressure off. When you do not know how to pray, the Spirit Himself prays for you in the gap, so you do not have to get the words right to start talking to God.
