"Cast All Your Anxiety on Him": What It Really Means

"Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you" is short, but it carries a lot. Each part is doing something.

"Cast" is an active word, like throwing a load off your own shoulders onto someone able to carry it, and it is something you do rather than wait around for.

"All your anxiety" leaves nothing out. The small worries and the heavy ones both qualify. You do not have to sort out which fears are worth bringing.

"Because He cares for you" is the reason it works. You can hand the weight over because the One receiving it cares about you and about whatever you are carrying.

The verse before it tells you to humble yourself under God's hand. Casting your anxiety on Him is part of that humility, admitting you cannot carry it all yourself, and trusting Someone who can.

So the next time worry piles up, take the verse at its word. Name what you are carrying, and throw it onto the God who cares.
